With a wide variety of bio geographic zones, the state is a paradise for floral species.
More than 7,000 species have been recorded from the state including at least 120 species of orchids.
Recent surveys in Niyamgiri hills have revealed several new records of flora which are listed in the Red Data Book of the IUCN. More surveys are needed to enumerate the complete list. These are just a few pictures of the incredibly beautiful flowers and fruits of Orissa.
