The state has got 19 species of amphibians, 110 species of reptiles, 476 species of birds, 86 species of mammals . Recent surveys are yielding new records and even new species of reptiles and amphibians are being discovered. A few species thought to be extinct for nearly 100 years have been rediscovered from their original habitats.
